Round Island Sailing

This lighthouse is part of the Hiawatha National Forest and faces Mackinac Island. It is reachable only by boat or across solid ice. Built in 1895-1896, it was first restored in the late 1970's. In 1995, restoration efforts were continued by Boy Scout Troop 323 from Freeland, Michigan together with the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Assocation.
